Unidentified gunmen have launched another attack on a police division in Imo State.
The gunmen, stormed the Police division in Ehime/Mbano, set the building on fire.
Furthermore, a number of operational vehicles and other cars parked in the premises were also razed.
This development comes barely 48 hours after gunmen attacked the Police Headquarters in the state. The gunmen had proceeded to torch the building and also attacked the Correctional Facility, freeing about 1,800 inmates.
The latest attack was confirmed by the spokesman of the Imo State Police Command, SP Orlando Ikeokwu.
However, the Police PRO claimed that no life was lost in the latest attack on the Ehime/Mbano division.
“Yes I can confirm to you that the police facility was attacked today by bandits. No casualty on the part of police. No loss of arms but three vehicles were burnt in the process,” he said.
Meanwhile, the attack comes a few hours after the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo; Governor Hope Uzodinma; the former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu and other government functionaries visited the site to inspect the attacked facilities.
Equally important, the latest attack brings the number of police facilities destroyed in Imo State between February and April to five. The attacked facilities include those at Obowo, Aboh-Mbaise, Ihite Uboma, Isiala Mbano and Ehime Mbano; as well as the police headquarters in the state.
