Senate To Probe Assault Of Security Guard By CCT Chairman

The last has not been heard of the alleged assault by Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Danladi Umar against a security man, Clement Sagwak.

According to media reports and a viral video on social media, the CCT Chairman was seen assaulting a Security man that turns out to be Mr. Sagwak at the Bannex Plaza in Abuja.

On Tuesday, April 20, Sen Instafanus Gyang presented a petition from Mr. Sagwak over the alleged assault against him.

Although the CCT Chairman denied assaulting anyone despite the video evidence; several Nigerians on social media called for the sacking or resignation of the high-ranking official.

The content of the petition is yet unknown presently; however, the matter has been referred to the Senate Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions.

The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan gave the committee four weeks to investigate the matter and report back to the Senate.
