Sequel to rising insecurity and threat to lives and economic activities in Kano state in the past days, the Nigerian Army (NA) troops in their effort at ensuring a tension free socio-economic activities return to the state, 1 Division NA in collaboration with personnel of Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other sister agencies as well as local vigilantes and hunters had embark on a special joint clearance operation in Falgore Forest and other criminal points in Kano State.
According to a statement released by the Director Army Public Relations Brig.Gen. Mohammed Yerima on Wednesday, the ongoing clearance operations is aimed at complementing the efforts of the standby troops at Forward Operating Base Falgore, and to ensure that bandits and other criminals using the forest as a hideouts for their nefarious activities are cleared and ensure that normalcy returns.
“we wish to reassure the good people of Kano State of the safety of their lives and property and also urge them to continue to report suspicious movements of strange individuals or groups in their vicinity to the nearest security agency for prompt action” Yerima stated.
The NA spokesperson also noted that the Army in working relation with other security agencies is committed to ensuring normalcy returns to Kano State and other bothering states to allow for legitimate business and economic activities to triumph.
